With the addition of a K&H Pet Bed Warmer, any pet bed can provide comfort and warmth. It can be placed inside virtually any pet bed and is easy to use. Just plug it in! It will become your cat or dog's favorite place to nap. Dual thermostats regulate temperature using only 4 watts. Pet is comfortable up to 102° when lying on a heated bed. The heater is set to keep the surface 12 to 15° above ambient air temperature and warms to a pleasing 102° degrees when the pet lies upon it.

I chose this because I can heat the place that my cats have already picked as their favorite sleeping spot rather than buy a separate heated bed then try to find somewhere suitable to put it and hope they use it.
I bought the pad in the squarish shape to best fit inside the designated cats' cushion on their kitchen chair. I put the pad inside the base of the cushion and laid an extra layer of fleece on top of their cushion just to make sure it didn't get too hot.
I have two elderly Birmans and live in New England so it's fairly cold in the winter but the heated pad has given the cats a source of steady warmth without requiring a change in their routine.

I was thrilled when my older and very particular cat took to this right away. I knew she would never accept a new bed, she's just that bad. But with this, it slides underneath her favorite blanket. When you first plug it in, don't be concerned if it is not as warm as you think it should be. It gets there and when combined with their natural warmth, you will find quite a toasty spot left behind when they get up. It is small, but they tell you the measurements in the description. My husband plugged it in to a timer and we are good to go.
*update* 2 months in and still going strong. Her new favorite spot. I think she would only like it more if we put it on our bed and added a remote control holder for her. ;-)

I use this in a cat bed made by Whisker city and my cat seems to love the heated bed. It is a good idea to buy a bed where the bottom has a zippered removable washable cover. I put the warmer inside the bottom cover and it works great.

I finally decided that it wasn't necessary to replace the WHOLE heated cat bed, which I have done three times already. I never plug that kitty cup out, so I guess they wear down after a year or so.
I finally found that I need only the heater insert and continue to use the bed. The warmer came promptly as promised, and it fits perfectly into the kitty cup. My cat is happy again after finally realizing her bed warms up!

We have an older can that was spending too much time in her cubby bed and we noticed that she would be a bit stiff sometimes when walking around. We bought this heater and set up a "day bed" for her by a sunny window. The heater stays on all the time under her padded bed and she now absolutely loves it. Great product.
