As an owner of several cats, I am always on the lookout for new ways to keep my kitties entertained and out of trouble. Just in time for Christmas, I discovered the Fling-ama-String! Very easy set up, just pop in the batteries, hang on a door knob, and turn on. The motor makes very little noise and can be set at two different speeds. An elastic belt rotates the colorful string around, flicking it out and withdrawing it quickly or slowly depending on which speed you choose. If your cat catches the string and pulls against the motor it simply stops and restarts again after the string is let go. My cats LOVE it! The first night they played with it nonstop for 3 hours! Now they come running whenever they hear the motor. One kitty will even sit in front of the toy and meow until someone turns it on. Definitely the best and most entertaining cat toy out there!

My cat was given this toy for a gift. He loves it and would play non stop if we'd let him. It did stop working after a few months but my son took it apart and cleaned the cat hair out of it and it worked fine. I've replaced the string (a thin shoe lace works great) several times because it's been worn down to a couple of inches from constant pulling on it. I got tired of buying batteries every couple of weeks so went to rechargable ones and then later my husband rewired it to a small power supply so we could plug it into an outlet. Now a year and a half later, the motor has finally worn out and I'm ordering a new one because the cat sits by the door where it used to be waiting for it to come back.

I have adult cats and when I switch the button to 'on', my 11 year old cat quickly runs downstairs to play with it. To find a toy that gets older kitties interested in, is an awesome thing!
The only annoying thing is you've got to buy a bunch of AA batteries in a large pack because you'll end up leaving it on a few times, draining the batteries (via forgetfulness).

I am absolutely thrilled with this product! My cats love it and it is well made and well thought out. My only concern is the amount of AA batteries I am now buying. However, that is a very small concern when I see the enjoyment my cats get from this toy. If you ever feel guilty about not playing with your cat enough, buy this toy. They get exercise and stimulation from it. A really great product!

When I saw this product advertised on Dr. Jon's site I immediately went to Amazon to see if they had it. Of course they did!! Amazon is the best. The Fling-ama-String is an excellent toy for an inside cat. We have two cats and they take turns playing. One will watch the other while waiting her/his turn. The cats will let us know when they want to play with it by standing right in front of it until someone sees them and takes the hint and turns it on. Watching the cats at play is hilarious and such good exercise for them. I highly recommend this product. Friends and relatives who have seen it say they are going to order one for their cats. Thank you for providing such an excellent product on your website Amazon!
